Sarah Banks is a writer, journalist and photographer. In a varied career, she has been wardrobe mistress for the Royal Shakespeare Company, touring Japan and Norway; personal dresser to actress Patricia Routledge; English teacher in Paris; reporter, feature writer and arts editor on the South London Press and Newcastle Evening Chronicle and freelance writer for national and regional newspapers, magazines and websites. More recently, she wrote the best-selling Wild Guide North East England, nominated for Travel Guide of the Year 2024. Her next book, Wild Swimming Walks Yorkshire, is due out spring 2025. When not exploring wild places, she can be found browsing a book shop, hunting out a new café or crafting, baking and flower growing at her home in North Yorkshire where she lives with her husband, three sons, dog, cat and hens.
