Laggan Drey ~ A Scottish Retreat

DSCF2465.jpg

Our family spent a week up in the Scottish Highlands over half term. Home for the week was The Drey, a stunning holiday house in Laggan, situated on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. The larch-clad house is built on stilts and is perched on an elevated position overlooking the peaks of Ben Alder and Craig Meagaigh.

The weather, in true Scottish style, was a mix of snow showers, sleet, rain and sunshine - often in one day and all adding to the dramatic scenery.

There are some beautiful walks in this area, from leisurely forest strolls to more strenuous mountain hikes. Not surprisingly, I was in my element getting out and about to capture the ever-changing beauty of this area.
